TADC OVERVIEW
The Texas Association of Developing Colleges (TADC) is a consortium corporation exempt from Federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. TADC provides a structure through which inter-institutional cooperation can be achieved. The mission of this corporation is to strategically plan, organize and direct cooperative opportunities and programs for its five-member private Texas HBCU institutions of higher education and serve as administrator of educational and community programs. Member institutions are: Huston-Tillotson University (Austin), Jarvis Christian College (Hawkins), Paul Quinn College (Dallas), Texas College (Tyler) and Wiley College "Home of the Great Debaters" (Marshall).
WHAT WE DO:
Some of the areas of focus for the collaborative efforts are: teacher education preparation, distance learning, faculty and staff development and student services and leadership. TADC is the parent corporation for its East Texas Educational Opportunity Center (ETEOC). TADC is the administrator of numerous programs, some of which are: Urban Scholarship Fund funded by AT&T and Verizon, and East Texas Educational Opportunity Center (ETEOC) funded by the U. S. Department of Education. TADC also works with its member institutions on the AVID Postsecondary program.
URBAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND (USF)
The Urban Scholarship Fund (USF) is a scholarship program administered by TADC, established by the Texas State Legislature in cooperation with SBC, Verizon and Sprint. USF is for graduating high school seniors and returning students attending any nonprofit public and/or private two- or four-year college or university or technical school. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements listed on the Urban Scholarship Fund Application.
